Hi Members,

I am looking for a prelim education assessment on WES website but the college for my MBA (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun) is not listed in the database...

My query, does WES only recognizes/evaluates qualifications from institutes only listed in it's database or does it research beyond that too, my MBA college is listed under the official UGC (Indian official authority) website as a recognized (under the heading 'Private University') and is not listed under the fake category.

Kindly share your thoughts..

Hello VSG,

The answer to your question is say as you are saying, your college / university is not in WES database - in such a case, what happened is that if you mail them all your documents for assessment, the final report which you get it as -

Your education - Recognized and equivalent to Canadian degree (3 or 4 years)

While for your college / University, it will show it as -
Unrecognized

Although it will not be a problem when you send your final report for immigration as your education is of recognized level.

Hope this helps.

Good luck,

I think WES clearly states that Sikkim Manipal University is not included in their evaluation. So on the other way, your university is included for evaluation.
Since yours is the MBA which I feel your 2nd degree apart from your graduation. There is no extra charge for 2nd degree evaluation by WES in the same application. So at maximum they can say no for it but first one will still be evaluated. So you should go ahead for your evaluation.

Hi Karenn,

Thank you for your prompt response...judging from your response I understand you have a fair bit of idea how WES evaluations works, could you please suggest how my below qualifications will be equated as per Canadian education -

1. MBA (2 years regular course) - As discussed in my forum earlier
2. Graduation (3 years) - Canada equivalency is bachelor's degree 3 years (as per WES database)

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
VSG

Hello VSG,

You already mentioned my friend -

1. MBA (2 years regular course) - As discussed in my forum earlier - will be equivalent to Canada's MBA (two years)
2. Graduation (3 years) - Canada equivalency is bachelor's degree 3 years (as per WES database) - will be equivalent to Canada's bachelor degree (three years).

Don't worry, just go further and file for WES evaluation. While one thing like to add, in one single order only, you can have your both degrees assessed. So don't pay twice. Single order will cost you $200 CAD in total (WES Basic Document to Document plus international courier).

Hope this helps.

Even if your university is not mentioned in their database, u can still get the status as recognized if the university is approved by recognizing bodies in India. Same happened with me..

Hello,..
Did you have any feedback from UPES? It is listed in WES website.. Did you sent for assessment or any feedback?
Where did you got the UPES transcripts attested for UPES?

Is this Vaibhav singh Gautam from MBA (Aviations)??

WES is not the only organisation that does ECA. If WES wont recognise your degree, try some other organisation.

Hi Sorry for opening a very old thread. I just wanted to know how many days did it take for WES to evaluate your Degree from University of Petroleum and energy studies?
