Dear Friends/Senior Members/attorneys

I need your help and suggestion.
I am presently in USA. I am a non USA citizen working on h1b visa and i recently got Canada visitor visa. In the application Form(IMM 5257) I made one wrong entry for the question "Have you ever committed, been arrested for, been charged or convicted of any criminal offense.." and I checked No with lack of knowledge. I have been convicted of 2 offenses in USA which are criminal offenses as per US Law 1) driving without license/Insurance and 2) driving for left of center. I just paid fines in US court. I have realized late that these are criminal offenses(i thought these are traffic offenses). How can i correct this information with Canada Embassy before i visit to canada. Please help.

Thanks in advance,
Kumar.

Not criminal offences in Canada, they fall under the motor vehicle acts in the Provinces.

Hi PMM,
thank you so much and very happy to get a reply from senior member. a bit relief for me.
But in the IMM5257 form(visitor visa application to canada), i have marked arrest section as No for these offenses. How can i rectify this.

Regards,
Kumar

I somehow doubt that you were "arrested" i.e. taken into custody for those offences.

dear PMM,
I am not in custody. i got ticket, Police given date to attend court, attended the court on specified date, paid the fines. My concern is mainly on not mentioning on the visitor visa application. please help
