I have been to Vancouver, BC, Canada in October 1997 and I am still 5 year-old at that time, with a "Record of Landing" (IMB 1000B). Since I didn't meet the residency requirements (stay 2 year in Canada within 5 years) because I go back to my Home Country, I don't know what is my status according to Canadian Government, a Foreign National or still a PR.
If I intend to go to Canada, what do I need to do to remain my PR status?

So if you were 5 years old in 1997, you must be 19 now. You are still PR until you officially lose your status so if you were to go to the Canadian embassy where you live and apply for a PR travel document to go and live in Canada, you have a pretty good chance of getting it if you state that you lost your PR through no fault of your own because obviously you do not have control of where you live when you are a minor child.

If you get the travel document, you should go to Canada, apply for a PR card based on the same thing and then your PR is basically re-instated. You should try to stay in Canada for 2 years then before leaving again because then your residency requirements are good again and your PR would be safe. If you just get the PR card and then leave again right away, if something happens to that PR card, you might have a problem because they might think that your intention isn't really to live in Canada.
