Help! I have queries for dependent child sponsorship

Hi Everyone.. I'm from Philippines and I am planning to apply for an Immigrant Visa to live and work in Canada. But I have an infant son that I want to take with me the same time I leave the country. Is he under dependent child sponsorship? Is it possible for us to leave the country at the same time?

Any advice would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

what specific visa are you applying for? there is no such thing as an "immigrant visa". either you are applying for a work visa, study visa, visitor's visa (which means you can't work) or spousal sponsorship.

are you being sponsored by a canadian spouse to move to canada? this board is for canadians sponsoring their spouse or other family members to move to canada as a permanent resident, so you will not get the best information about other types of visas.

if you are applying for a work visa, then you want to post in the foreign worker section of this forum.

Sorry about that. I'm not really knowledgeable about this stuff that's why I'm asking around.. Any kind of Visa that would allow me to work and live in Canada.. Work visa it is.. but what about my son..what visa does he apply for?

your son would need to be included in your application. you need to do your own research for how you plan to come to canada and work. there are many different options available, depending on your qualifications.

post your question in the foreign worker section and do research on the CIC website. you can google CIC canada, and the website will pop up. this board is not going to have the information you are looking for.
