Hi Everyone,
I am new here and have no experience with CIC applications. I have a 10 yrs old son and I want to sponsor him to come to Canada, only him as his mum is already remarried. I tried to go through the forms but I don't understand now, who is the principal applicant. I am the only one filling out the forms for my son but I am a Canadian citizen I think I am not the principal applicant and my son is under 18 he is not filling out any form on his own, there are so many forms not applicable to him.

Can somebody give a clear idea who is the principal applicant, and how much will I pay( very important?). Thank you in advance

Your son is the principle applicant. It doesn't matter if he cannot sign the forms. You would have to complete the application from your son's point of view, as if he is filling out the application himself.

You would also require papers from his mother allowing you to sponsor the son and live with you. Without this paper, CIC will likely delay the application process until CIC gets this authorization papers.

BTW: I hope you declared your son in your original PR application.

Thank you Screech!, Yes I declared him and his mum but never sponsored them as his mum(My wife that time) refused to move to canada and refused to let my son join me, now she is willing to let him join me as she is remarried.
My other question, how much I am going to pay?
I see:
Sponsorship application (per application): $75.00
Principal applicant who is under 19 years of age, unmarried and not in a common-law relationship: $75.00
Right of Permanent Residence Fee: $490.00 ( given he is under 18, does he pay the full of fee or not?)

$75+ $75+ $490= $640 Am I correct?
