Hey guys, I'm in Canada BC for over a year now and never had any health issues. Now
I need to go see a doctor but I don't know where to start.
How do I find a doctor? Where I'm from we always go see your 'family' doctor in every matter,
and he/she usually suggests seeing a specialist then.
How does that work in Canada? How do I find a doctor? Can I go see any doctor?
Do I get charged for it? I'm covered under MSP in BC.

Thanks

Search for a family doctor accepting new patients near where you live: https://www.cpsbc.ca/node/263
Call and make sure they're still accepting new patients and make an appointment.

You don't need to go through a family doc though if you need to be seen immediately. You can just go to a walk-in clinic. I believe they can refer you to specialists too. There shouldn't be a charge for doctor's visits. You may have to pay for any prescriptions though depending on your insurance coverage in addition to MSP.
