Hello, I have an issue, let's see if someone here can help me.

I am 33 years old, I was born in Spain, but my mother is canadian, I applied for my proof of citizenship in May 2012 and still waiting, I decided to came to Canada as tourist to see if it is interesting to establish here when I got my papers, (even thought to apply for Working Holiday Visa as spanish so I can work while waiting). The thing is, when I pass the border, the immigration guy, told me that I appear as canadian in his computer and stamped my spanish passport with a CC (canadian citizen) writed down (my wife instead has a "V" from visitor). Now I am in Canada as canadian, but I can't get my SIN or anything, but at the same time I am afraid that if I apply for the WHV as spanish they reject because they see I am canadian.
In the CIC page my application is still "In process". Do any of you know any way to have canadian papers before receiving that damn "citizenship certificate" or find out why he saw me as canadian. Can I proof that I am canadian with that "CC" in my sapnish passport?

Than you for your help.

i would try to Call CIC and explain your situations, and also i would recomend email your embassy who took care of your papers.

Honestly I would have thought that since you entered Canada with a Spanish Passport, you are Spanish national in Canada. It is no difference from you entering Spain with a Canadian Passport, Spain would have to treat you as Canadian first. Although I may be ignorant in Spain's nationality citizenship rules when it comes to dual citizenship. Will Spain see Canadian first, Spanish Second if you came in with a Canadian Passport or Spanish first, Canadian second.

Thank you for your answer, Spain does completly accept double citizenship with Canada, in fact my mother has both (In Spain you get the citizenship at your marriage), so there is no problem over there.
The fact is that the immigration man told that I appear on his computer as canadian, marked with that "CC" and told me I have no limit to stay, because he let me in AS canadian, but I do not have any other proof.
I thought to ask CIC, but my idea is to establish in Canada, so I am afraid if I go with the passport and ask them, they told me that was a mistake and take that "CC" out of my passport and mark me as "visitor" so I only have 6 months. That's why I preferred to ask over here.
For the moment I think I would let it like that, maybe search for a job (In CIC pages they say they can accelerate the proof of citizenship if you have a job offer) and if the WHV process starts again try as spanish.
Thank you again for taking your time answering.

That may be the tough part. Getting a job part because to start working, you need to get a SIN card to legally work. So with a spanish passport and canadian stamp on it as proof? They will not likely accept your spanish passport with stamped Canadian on it as proof?

As far as I know the only proof of Canadian citizenship as a canadian birth certificate or canadian citizenship certificate. Without that, you are unlikely able to get SIN.

My two kids could not get their SIN unless they provided their Canadian citizenship certificates. They were born in US.

I think you have no choice but to wait for your citizenship certificate to come through before you can apply for SIN card.

Thank you again for your reply, you are right in everything you told, when I said to look for job if because CIC told me that if I can lose a job offer because I don't have my papers I can't send them a proof and they "might" accelerate the process. So the idea is look for a job, explain the situation and get a letter from then saying something like: "If you had your papers we would like to hire you". But I am not sure if that companies would like to be "used", so the idea was to let that to the very end.

Thank you aganin
