Timeline:
2021.11.05 Enter into Canada with a TRV
2022.03.05 Applied for Visitor Record
2022.09.05 VR was approved to 2022.10.05
2022.09.10 Applied for the second VR

I applied for ILAC 4-month ESLProgram and get the offer. Am I eligible to study in Canada while my visitor record is processing?

Much appreciate if anyone can give me some advice!

Thank you!

Sure, you can study a 4 months ESL program.

Thanks for your reply. But still confused by the following rules:

Short-term courses [R188(1)(c)]
Foreign nationals may enter Canada or remain in Canada without a study permit to attend a course or program of study of 6 months’ duration or less [R188(1)(c)]. This exemption helps to facilitate access to short-term courses, regardless of their subject matter. The course or program of study may be part-time or full-time and should be completed within the period authorized upon entry (i.e., up to 6 months).

I entered into Canada in November 2021. Does this mean that I have to complete the short-term courses before May 2022?

Will I break the rules if I start studying in Canada now?

Thanks a lot!

The big issue is if you are denied an extension but haven’t finished your course.
