HELP! adding spouse during PR application and after receiving CSQ

Hi everyone, I received my csq and submitted my PR application. I received a medical request and now I want to add my partner in my application. My consultant advised me to hold off my medical until we also receive a medical request for my partner. She also mentioned that we have to cancel my federatal application before I can add my partner to the application and pay again the processing fee, i believe it's $550 for the main applicant + $550 for my partner. Is this true? anybody here has the same experience? I've been looking to their website and can't find any information regarding this.

I've never heard of anyone canceling their application in such a case - you should be able to add your partner to the application. It will require you pay the additional fee for your partner and you must submit updated applications to the VO. I have no idea why your consultant would say you have to withdraw your application and apply again.

People change family composition all the time - they update their applications and the VO examines the new material and they move forward.
