Hello guys, its bin a while since I visited this forum....

I am helping a friend..I need your expertise on this matter..I will also PM Qorax our master (everhelpful).

PROBLEM: wrong document sent; my friend sent CERTIFICATE of MARRIAGE instead of ADVISORY OF MARRIAGES from the Philippines...

ENTERED CANADA: FEB. 09, 2011
OPEN PERMIT issued on: AUGUST 22, 2013
SUBMITTED PERMANENT RESIDENCE APPLICATION ON MAY 2013.......

On MARCH 09, 2015: received a letter from CIC requesting for the ADVISORY of MARRIAGE document.
On APRIL 14, 2015: sent the wrong document (sent CERTIFICATE of MARRIAGE instead of ADVISORY OF MARRIAGES from the Philippines...

DECISION LETTER FROM CIC (SEPT 29 2015): REFUSED...

Please help us on what to do..this is just a small mistake but they make it like an "open and close case"

if your friend has the AOM, send a case-specific inquiry along with a scan of the document to CIC immediately, apologize for the confusion and acknowledge the error, and request reconsideration.

The error was your friend's not, CIC's, so the answer will likely be no. But it won't hurt to try.

Considering the type of mistake committed, I hope they will reconsider. Hopefully, the years of labor will not be spent in vain. Too sad a situation.
