I want help regarding few questions.

1. Once OHIP is activated doctor consultations and medicine both are free of cost ? (if not i can carry few basic medicine for my children)

2. What is the role of family Doctor?

3.Are there designated government clinics for free treatment according to area network..is it same rule like children have to attend neighboring school only so is for clinics??

Regards

1. Doctor consultations are free, but you have to pay for medicines (unless you are over the age of 65). Private insurance plans can either partially or fully cover the medicine cost, but you or your employer have to pay for these.

2. The family doctor is a GP who treats you for minor ailments and keeps your record. He/She is also responsible for referring you to a specialist, if required.

3. There are walk-in clinics located across the country, and you can be treated in any one of those, or in the ER of any hospital, regardless of where you live.
