Can anyone please tell me that how soon will I get health insurance once I land in Alberta?
Will I have to do any formalities related to it at the airport and get my health card?
I have health issues and would need a health cover ASAP.
What all do I need to obtain it? If someone can please help I will appreciate please.

Have you updated CIC if your health has changed and you need medical care right away? You can legally bring 90 days worth of medication with you. You will not be able to get your healthcare at the airport. You will need to remain in Alberta at least over 6 months to qualify for health coverage or you could be asked to pay back any services you use. I would encourage you to read about the residency obligations to receive healthcare even if you have a valid health card. They vary by province. Not sure how urgent your care actually is but your first plan should be to find a family doctor that is accepting patients. After that if the GP thinks you need to be also followed by a specialist you may have to wait months to see one.
