Hi,

I'm hoping someone has previous experience and can help, I'm currently in B.C. on the IEC program and looking to apply for a second visa. My issue is regarding the entry requirements around health care. As I'm already in B.C and registered with MSP, I can't find any insurance company that covers you for 2 years if you are also covered by MSP - has anyone experienced this? Any solutions?

I know you can get insurance for 2 years with Canadian companies but in their conditions you can't be part of MSP, which doesn't make sense as technically all residents in B.C. have to register with M.S.P

Why would you need an insurance company to cover you if you're already covered by MSP?
It's already been established that you're a resident of B.C. and that you're part of MSP. You'd have to re-enrol which is just a couple of clicks as your Care Card and visa expire at the same time.

Fill me in if I'm missing something here.

1. You are missing that IEC work permit holders require health insurance that covers repatriation, MSP doesn't cover that.
