My mother-in-law and sister-in-law are visiting from Thailand for 2.5 and 1 month, respectively. When they applied for visas, they indicated that they would be buying temporary travel insurance for the duration of their visits. Now that we think about it, we'd prefer to get this insurance when they arrive in Canada -- it's much more likely to be valid and accessible (if necessary) than Thai-based insurance. Would this cause problems at the border (i.e. lack of health insurance), given our visa-application statement?
