Hi,

I am a US citizen who is originally from Sri Lanka. My parents have visited USA and overstayed, but left USA voluntarily with no criminal records. Now they have a 10 year bar preventing them getting a US permanent residency or re-entry into the USA. I would like them to have a visit to Canada.. will they have any problems getting Canadian temporarily visa because of their prior US immigration violation? any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Personal view but the fact they overstayed in US and now have an exclusion for US could imply same to Canada immigration that they will overstay in Canada. Would take a lot of convincing to persuade otherwise but others can comment although ultimately only Canada Immigration can make the decision and not a public forum.

Given their overstay in the US, there is little chance of them being approved for TRVs for Canada.
