No, few people actually get that. Most people know by tracking their application to see that it has been recieved.

Can i ask if you sent it inland or outland?

I've sent mine inland and you only receive an email after they start processing your sponsorship application. It took about 3 months for my sponsor to get an email. That's all I've received up to now.

I'm not sure if it different for outland applicants.

I believe you sent your application outland. If so, it's likely you won't hear anything until Mississauga has finished processing your application and has approved the sponsor.
