I voluntarily cancelled an Australian student visa offshore, through E-mail in 2014, since I decided to attend a prestigious university in my home country.

Should I tick "yes" or "no" for this question? Since I wasn't really refused or denied a visa, or ordered to leave.

Thanks for all the help :)

I would play it super safe and say yes to the refusal (and then explain that you were the one who actually canceled the visa). Technically this does not sound like a refusal at all but you sometimes never know how this might be interpreted by IRCC. There's no harm in declaring this and then explaining what it was. That's the safest path to me.
