It's been a week since I registered with job bank through Express Entry. But I've not received ONE SINGLE match yet. I'm an electrical engineer. I can't believe it. Is something wrong with their system?

same here. my job bank is activated since week but no match yet. i keep on updating something on it and refreshing the dashboard.

its almost as if you haven't read previous threads on the job bank..?
The matching system isn't functional yet.

This is a relatively new system and it might take time to rev up.

hello hero member ( purple snow ) . if the job bank is not functional yet then how are able to make profile on it? its working fine and i have seen guys getting job matches. what is not functional is the employers cannot access the job bank if its from the express entry.

i didn't say job bank isn't functional. I said the matching mechanism on it isn't. There's a difference.

I do agree with Purple Snow. I have created a job bank profile since, May and still waiting for job. It isn't great. No employer register there and we need to hunt for job outside this website. If you are outside canada then very very difficult to get a job.

Purplesnow is right.

In the meantime, one needs to be proactive about job searching. Here's a little something to get you started :) :

Employers aren't obligated to post openings on Job Bank. If there aren't any hits, this probably means that companies in this field are having no issues filling open positions with individuals who are already authorized to work in Canada.

I don't know anything about the job bank, but in addition to using it I would look on Indeed.ca, and I would also look on the provincial web sites of places you want to live (for government jobs).

When I first landed in Canada, I was excited to find some sort of online job bank in various Service Canada offices -- that sense of imminent success lasted for about five minutes . . . I got my first professional job in Canada by identifying about 6 cities with decent job markets within a long day's drive of where I was living (they were Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, and Winnipeg) and checking the specific job pages of appropriate organizations weekly. When I finally got an interview, I attended in person, and told them that my wife and I were already in the process of moving there (mostly true).

It probably differs a bit by profession, but I wouldn't put much faith in anything where you upload your resume so employers can find you.

I've had jobs matched on job bank.

However, they have nothing to do with my experiance, noc code or anything for that matter., they are all in food industry such as restaurant management etc., and I have never worked in a restaurant, hospitaliy or anything simmilar.. I am an office asistant for gods sake :/
