Hi EVERYONE

i was talking to a friend of mine today over the phone and he told me " he heard that if u don't renew your expired PR card within 90 days of the expiry date you will be asked to leave canada immediately". i am staying in canada nowadays and my PR card will expire very soon "this month to be more accurate" and i haven't met the permanent residency obligation so i was planning to stay in canada until i meet those obligations but if what he said is true i don't think i will be able to meet those obligations by the time have to renew my PR card according to what he said to me. I really need help here guys should i believe him and apply for my PR renewal before i meet my residency obligations or should i stick to my old plan and stay in canada for 730 days before i apply.

I really appreciate all your help in advance

Your friend doesn't know what he's talking about. There is no 90 day rule.

Stick with your original plan and wait until you have 730 days in Canada before applying for a renewed PR card.

I don't know how these rumours get started but there is no such rule. Stick to your plan of 730 days unless you want to end up with a residency questionnaire and having to appeal to keep your PR.

totally rubbish there is no such rule, cent percent u are on right track
