Has anyone experience the same? Sp approved but OWP still in progress. Lodged same day.

Hi i was hoping if someone can help regarding our situation. Scenario is me and my common law partner lodged our application together on the same day. My partner's study permit has been approved last Oct 30 but my open work permit is still in progress until now. Anybody experienced the same? I hope you can enlighten us as we are really confused since we thought the result will be given on same day.. please and thank you.
