Handwrite vs computer

Hi all,

Currently starting to fill out the forms for spouse sponsorship. Does anyone know if it makes a difference in processing time if the forms are filled out on the computer or are printed and then handwritten?

I'm not really sure how it will affect the processing time. I'm pretty sure tho hat if you have printed forms esp the ones with barcode, it will be easier for them to encode your info, easier to read, plus it will avoid typo when typing your details.

By all means, if you can, just get them printed

There is written on the cic website- printed with barcode is faster proccesing than written

Yes, of course it is. All they have to do is scan the bar-codes and your whole app is in their system. Hand-written applications must be entered manually and are subject to data-entry errors.

How to use this application package
Read the Instruction Guide to fill out your application forms.

Use the Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking (IMM 1344) form and the Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008). You can fill them out and save them using a computer. You will need Adobe Reader 10 or higher. You must also turn JavaScript on.
Filling out the forms on a computer is easier than filling them out by hand. It reduces the risk of mistakes that can slow down the application process.
Trouble downloading? Right-click the link and select "Save Target As..."

Fill out, validate, print, sign and date your application forms.

To make sure you submit all the pages of each form:

IMM 1344 and IMM 0008 forms

Click the "Validate" button at the top or bottom of the form.
Note: Validating the form before printing makes sure that you have answered all the questions. This will help you to avoid delays in processing your application.
A last page with barcodes and a signature line will automatically be created.
Print, sign and date the form.
For best results:
print on white, bond-quality, non-glossy paper and
use a laser printer.
Place the barcode page on top of your package. If you have more than one package, place a separate barcode page on each one.

this indicates you have to use computer not hand written. if not validated u will not get barcode. that wil not be validated if u dnt fill all relevant info
