Hi All,

Could you pls advise the case of one of my friend: she would like to study Hair Design + Esthetician Program at Delmar College of Hair and Esthetics Inc. (DLI number: O110206814387). Hair Design is 1400 hours and Esthetician is 864 hours, total hours is 2,264 hours equivalent 2 years full time student, can she will get work permit 3 years? The link of Delmar college as below:

Thanks a lot for your help

Should the first question not be whether your friend based on existing qualifications, funding etc.. could qualify for a student visa rather than heading straight for the PGWP question.

No, she won't get a PGWP since it's a private school. Only degree courses qualifies for PGWP in a private school (unless they are operating under the same rules like any public school, mostly in BC and Quebec).

Thank you for your reply.

How can we know the course from private school is a degree or not? Stylist is apprenticeship - compulsory certification trades, does it qualify a degree?

Could you pls help to check the link below and advise us.

It's safe to assume that no stylist program from any private college will qualify for a PGWP.

Is it possible to check with CIC whether hairstylist program eligible PGWP or not?
