I am a Canadian citizen and I am planning to get married to someone I know back in India, my country of origin. We have been talking for a few months now and our families have met, and discussed and finalized everything. We are planning the wedding for Fall of this year.
I am looking for guidance on spousal sponsorship but I am confused even after reading the stickied thread and information on IRCC website (e.g. differences between Inland and Outland, etc).
Also, my future wife is planning to apply for a visitor visa in the next couple of months. It doesn't have anything to do with us or our marriage, but independently because her sibling is moving to Canada for higher education. She and her parents would apply for a visitor visa so that they could come with her sibling to Canada to help her move initially. Is that a good idea? And can that allow her to come to Canada with me after marriage, and then we apply for Inland application?
I have also heard that inland applications take a lot longer than outland ones, but recently the difference is decreasing? Can the application be done ourselves or do we have to get help from immigration lawyer?
Can someone please guide me about the process and share their experiences?
