Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi everyone,

I just have a question about working in the public sector, unionised job, in which there is a pension. For example, as a Permanent Resident who has worked for 10 years in the public sector, what happens to my pension if I were to lose my PR status (e.g. not fulfilling the 2 year residency requirement)?

As a non PR, will I still get the pension I am entitled to based on my earnings at 67 years old?

Any response is very much appreciated.

Thanks mikenz for your response,

I guess once a person loses residency in Canada, he loses all his pension.

The pdf that was linked to is for OAS. This is a guaranteed income program for Cdn residents it is not the pension from your public sector job (although it appears that if you apply for OAS while you have status as a PR you can still collect if you become non-resident). You will still get your public service pension according to the terms of the plan. You need to ask the people who administer that pension what happens.
