Hi all,

Am new to this forum..I came to know about this forum very recently. One of my colleague told me about this forum and he have high praise for the forum. So i thought i should also join here.
I've applied for canada migration about five years before.I got my visa last week.It was a really long wait ...I have not yet decided when to land. Most probably in Jan 2012.Am from a poor family and i went through lots of difficulties to reach up to this point.Money was the real matter.Inspite of all the debts my family have which is on my shoulders, arranging the landing funds was a huge task for me.But i manage to make it with God's blessing and my hardwwork. So i need to make sure that each step i take towards canada migration is correct.so far everything went well with god's grace. Now i need the help from the forum members.I have a few doubts, which i hope the forum mebers will clarify to me...

1)Am planning to land in jan or feb 2012.But i came to know that its winter time in canada and it would be very cold.If i land that time,i've to do all the initial formalities like bank account, sin, job search etc in those hard climate. So i would like to know IS JAN A RIGHT TIME FOR LANDING???
2)Am a tool and die maker by profession and i have 8 years work experience.HOW IS THE JOB OPPURTUNITIES FOR TOOL AND DIE MAKERS IN CANADA??
3)DO I HAVE TO GET A CERTIFICATION TO WORK?

4)Am planning to land in Toronto.IS TORONTO A RIGHT CHOICE FOR TOOL AND DIE MAKER?
5)WHAT WILL BE AN APPROXIMATE PAY FOR TOOL AND DIE MAKERS?
;) ;)
I hope someone would clarify my doubts....

I read some of the topics in this forum and i learned many new things. It was very nice to read few landing experience.....I wish all success and happiness for those who are in canada and for those who are on the road to canada...

Sincerely,
Tony...

Hi,
Tony_K

Welcome!! And congratulation!! :)

mute_man and can-vishal's replies are excellant,

let me add.

1. Jan /Feb is really hard weather for landing, completing the initial formalities like bank account, sin, not a big issue few hour job and all transportation system (buses, subway) have the heating system, But job search will be difficulties in winter for newcomer. Better to land before month of Dec, or In May.
2. Job opportunities and salary scale you can check on http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/intro-eng.aspx
3. It is not regulatory occupation, but some health and Safety certificate is compulsory to obtain, most of employer are responsible to arrange and will be paid by employer.
4. Same as # 3.
5. Minimum pay in Ontario is $10.25 per hour, you may calculate your pay at : http://www.payscale.com/resources.aspx?nc=lp_calculator_canada01
