Dear all,

I'm a divorced mum of 3 living and working in Dubai. I hold a Jordanian passport with a valid U.A.E residence visa. My kids go to school here. Last July, I applied for a TRV to visit my sister in Canada (Calgary). I submitted an application for myself only (to save application fee in case of rejection), but mentioned in my application that I will be travelling with my kids (I was planning to apply for them once I get mine approved). I mentioned that I will be going for 2 weeks during the summer vacation. I attached a return ticket booking for the last 2 weeks of August. Sometime during my application processing, my sister decided to leave Canada with no intention to return, and she did. After almost one month and ten days, my visa got rejected for the following reasons:
  • Purpose of visit
  • Immigration status in the current country of residence
  • Financial assets
I had attached the following with my application:
  • Invitation letter
  • Salary certificate and 6 months bank statement (with more than 10,000 CAD in my account)
I have been working for the same company for more than 10 years. I don't have any assets (I just own my car). I have a house rent tenancy contract in my name (one cheque has been cleared already). My kids are enrolled in school and have receipts for their tuition paid in full.

I would like to add that the account from which I have applied for the TRV, has an expired express entry profile.

I would like to re-apply as my best friend is also there in Canada and I would like to visit with my kids. Please let me know how can I make my application stronger and address all areas of concern? Would you recommend asking for the GCMS notes?

I highly appreciate your advise.

Short advice:
To improve your chances of a TRV approval, you may have to apply for only yourself and/or with maybe only one child
