After waiting for more than 1 year my husband finally got his letter we've been dreaming about in the mail today!!! We applied from the US in April 2012. In November 2012 he got a request from immigration to get his fingerprints sent to RCMP to get a criminal clearance certifcate. My husband was in Canada for more than 6 months many years ago. After we got his prints sent a few days later in November, we never heard from RCMP for many weeks. We sent emails to them to find out if the fingerprints were processed yet but each time they would email us back and say it hasn't been put in the system yet and to email them back in a few weeks. 2 weeks ago I emailed both RCMP and Immigration and we got an email from immigration saying that they already sent us the confirmation of permanent residence! Today we got the letter in the mail and we have until Feb of 2014 to land! I'm assuming they extended my husband's medical cause he did it Feb of 2012...so that was really nice of the agent that did our case. Also we didn't have to do an interview...but we've been married since 1999 and have 3 kids together, so we have alot of proof. The rest of the day today I just felt in disbelief and so surreal cause I've been wanting to move back to Canada since a decade ago living here in the US. And with all the gun violence now in the US...I want to get out of this country more than ever before. Thanks to everyone who helped answer all my questions and helped me through my application and waiting. We plan to "land" end of this month possibly and then come back to the US and officially move mid Aug. So excited and hoping everyone here on this forum gets their approvals smoothly and soon.

haha I just responded to ur thread about the rcmp wait, than noticed u were approve that's great!! congrats!!

Thank you everyone! It would've been less than a year for sure if we didn't have to do the fingerprints for RCMP...or if we did electronic prints but we would've had to go to Canada to do it. But so glad the process worked out and we can finally land!!! Goodluck to everyone!! LeisaP, thanks! I responded to your other post about the medical extension.
