Got new passport after getting *approval* for study permit... need to reapply/ammend?

Hi,
If a US student heading to Canada to study in the fall applies for a study permit with one passport, gets the approval, then renews the passport... does the student need to do anything (and how) to update the approval before getting to the border and getting the study PERMIT?
