Hello everyone. First of all I want to thank this forum for all the information and feedback you provide for us. It was indeed very much helpful. Your detailed information was very much appreciated.

After a 2 months waiting time. I finally went to pick up my passport and there it was a 4 year 20 days visa!!! It was worth the wait! A special thanks to Bryanna, Jalex, Steaky, sous02, Regina and sorry if I'm missing someone. Good luck to all the others. Just be sure to get all the proper documents be detailed and just prove to them that you have something to come back to and all should be fine.

Thanks once again to this forum.
Maro.

Congratulations :)

Guess you got a TRV until the full validity of your passport. Absolutely fantastic :) :)

Hey do we have to show health insurance at immigration if going as a visitor??
No, it is not necessary. However, it helps because it shows that it's a well planned visit.... especially if parents are applying

Congratulations to those who received TRV. my spouse is doing PhD in Canada. I want to visit her. I would highly appreciate if you can provide some information on below questions:

a) Do I need to buy air ticket (including return ticket) at the time of applying for TRV?
b) While boarding in the plane do airline /immigration want to see return air ticket? I read some forum mentioning about that but I want to make sure.
c) At Port of entry (POE) in Canada do they want to see return ticket?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Congratulation for your visa for Canada !!!

I have applied for visitor visa on August 4th and still not got any reply from Banglore visa office. The current processing time is 33 days and I am getting worried why I have not got any reply from visa office as this is my 2nd application for visitor visa and it been rejected first attempt. Can you please let me know weather your visa stamping date is same as your travel dates?

Thanks
trv

Processing times posted on the IRCC website are only as a guide. Actual time can take longer/faster. There were a number of holidays at the Bangalore visa office/VFS in August-September.

No, the TRV stamping date will be from the date the TRV application is approved and not as per the travel dates

@Bryanna: Thanks for the prompt reply. Just a small query : In case they say 30 days as processing time , is it including or excluding the weekends ? Its been more than 45 days since my application (so just wanted to ensure if I am counting correctly or not)
Also, please tell me will a written request to expedite the processing of my application be helpful in this case ? Is that needed at this point of time ? Or should I wait longer before I actually email/send a written request to then ?

It's calendar days.

You can send a Case Specific Enquiry (google for the CSE link for the Bangalore visa office). It could take up to 30 days to get a reply. If you have reasons to travel/visit very soon then maybe you'll get a decision quickly
