Hi.
Today (03.02.2015) I got the update request (including medical examination) from VO. I have 60 days to submit the update.
The issue is that I plan to get married in September 2015.
What would be the best way for me to act in order to include my future wife in my application?
From what I read, I have to inform VO only after the marriage. But I am afraid this can be too late and can cause problems.
My marriage is planned for September as some of our relatives must present and they will only be able to come in September, but if it will be important to avoid troubles, I may officially marry earlier (go to Civil registry) and only keep the public ceremony for September.
I am searching for an advice.

Better you go for Nikkah ceremony, get the Nikkah naama registered and get change ID of your wife by adding your name as husband..get passport for her after new CNIC....inform LVO once your nikkah has been registered.....you have short time so plan things quickly

Based on my experience, I got married after medical request. It may delay a few months on your application but worth the wait.Make sure to get married before IP and DM.Gather relationship proofs now so that you can save time.It is really time consuming.Check online the needed proofs based on Relationship Proof Questionnaire requested by CIC.

Thank you for your comments.

gracemar14 , looks like you had the same situation, so you can be a good adviser :).
Do I understand correctly that you did your steps in the following order?
- sent your update including medical examination and Permanent Residence Fee to VO
- got married
- informed VO about the marriage
- got information from VO about additional forms and fees requested for your spouse
- sent additional forms and fees for your spouse to VO

If so, how much time passed from the update request till your marriage?
How much time do you think I have to deal with my marriage in order to be sure that my spouse will be included in my application?
If I am not mistaken, I can add a spouse at any time before landing (even after getting my visa). The only issue is - the later I add my wife, the later I will get everything done.

So do you think that postponing the marriage till September will really not cause me big troubles except delaying our final arrival to Canada?

That is correct. You can check my timeline.I got 3 mos delay on my medical bcoz i had a surgery. So disregard my timeline before I got married.

All can say is if you want to include your spouse in your application, and fast processing, better get married soon as possible before your paper will be finalized.Preferably after your medical..After your marriage, inform CIC so that your spouse will get his/her medical request. With my case both of our papers were finalized and got PPR approx 2mos after my spouse' medical..

Based on other thread on another forum, its hard when you add your spouse once visa is issued..Im afraid you go all over the process again..

Dear Seniors,

What are the ways to add Spouse post marriage and PR ?

Can a PR holder and immediately sponsor spouse ? or there is any eligibility even to sponsor a spouse ?

Please advise

Thank you. To check how it should go I have opened the timeline of 2013 applicants and am confused a bit now. As I see, after the "medical request" a "passport request" is mentioned and immediately after it (2 weeks to 3 months) the visa is usually issued. But in the same letter with the medical request I have also passport request. Actually I am not sure, is it a passport request or "copy of all pages of passport" is not the same with passport request? ::)
If this is a passport request, then I am on the finish line.... OMG, looks like I have only a little bit of time left to marry if I want to add my wife till the visa will be issued )).

The quotation from VO letter below:

WHAT ARE WE REQUESTING?
- Completion of the medical examination for yourself, your spouse and your dependent children

o The required forms with detailed instructions will be sent to you by a separate e-mail.

- Payment of the Right of Permanent Residence Fee for yourself (if applicable), if it has not already been paid. The amount is $ 490 CAD per person.

o Instructions on how to make the payment can be found here: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/poland-pologne/visas/processing_fees-frais_traitement.aspx?lang=eng&view=d

- A copy of all pages of passport for yourself, your spouse and your accompanying dependent children

o Each person must have their own passport and there must be at least two blank pages in each passport

o The passport should be valid for the next twelve months and should be the passport that you intend to use to enter Canada

o Ordinary passports are the only type of passport into which a permanent resident visa maybe inserted. Diplomatic, official and special passports are not acceptable

As I checked from another threat that is not my PPR. :)
So I hope I will have couple of months after MR to get married and inform VO about my spouse.

No the passport request should say in the subject of the email 'Ready for Visa'.
