Hi,

I received an ITA through the CEC draw last Friday while my OINP application is still in progress and pending at the 'Decision in Progress' stage.

I want to go through the OINP process for my PR but I would like to know if my application will be put on hold due to the CEC draw invitation. Please advise if I can decline ITA right after my status gets changed from 'Decision in Progress' to the next state (Approve/Reject)?

I am assuming my application should still move from decision in progress to next state. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Appreciate your quick help.

Regards,
AK

Why would you not go with CEC, which will be faster.

You can surely decline your ITA and wait for a decision on your OINP, and once you get a nomination, you will have to wait for another draw to get an ITA.

And also as a Ontario nominee you are bound by the PNP rules. See https://bit.ly/2XGK3Dn

Hi, I am also in the same situation - though I've chose and already submitted my CEC PR application. However I did not withdraw my OINP yet as I just wanted to know whether I pass or not, will it affect my PR application?

Hello @cheramz , I have exactly the same situation. May I ask if you ended up withdrawing your OINP? I don't think I'm eligible for refund since it's been assessed.. Could you please advise? Many thanks.

Hi, I did not withdraw my OINP but I left it as is since I got an ITA from CEC and applied my PR through it instead.

Thanks for your response. Your two applications for EE-CEC and OINP were valid at the same time? and nothing happened? Because I just found this (below) on the OINP website and I was thinking I may have to withdraw my application.

If you receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence from IRCC while your application is being processed by the OINP, your profile is no longer available for us to nominate you.

You must decide to either:
- reject the ITA issued by IRCC
- withdraw your application to the OINP
