Guys,

I hope I am writing in the right forum here. I have such case, please share your thoughts aor experience if you have some.
I recently landed in Canada and became a PR. The thing is that me (principal applicant) and my ex-wife (as a dependant) were supposed to travel to Canada and become PR together. However due to some family issues we had to split up and she stayed home not travelling with me. We officially got divorced in our home country.

Do I have I to inform about this marital status change of mine to CIC? If so, in what way can I do it?

You you needed to inform CIC when yoy go divorced. You should do it right away. Your landing documents say that you must asvise CIC about any changes in your family composition before landing. Were you dependent on your spouse for any points in the application?

She did not contribute any point to the final score in the application. And we were under divorce process during my travel plan to Canada.

I landed successfully and became a PR. I have already informed CIC about marital status chance, but did so after becoming PR in Canada. Do you think CIC might reconsider my application as I informed them afterwards?

Your spouse should not have landed and received PR as you were in the process of divorcing. You would still qualify but your ex-wife should not have qualified and should lose her PR. Assume you may have only informed CIC after she had landed ao she could get PR since it does sound like you were aware that you needed ro advuse CIC of any changes to your family composition.

No, she did not travel and landed in Canada. She stayed home and is no longer planning to arrive in Canada.
So my question is whether this matter will not affect my PR status?

You would still qualify but your ex-wife should not have landed and is not emtitled to PR. It is very clear that you need to inform CIC of any changes in your family and people are often asked right before they land in person if there have been any changes to your family cimposition. Did you arruve in Canada on the same flight and go throigh immigration together? It seems pretry suspicious that you didn't inform CIC of your divorce until you and your ex-wife had entered Canada and had received PR. You were aware of the rules if you did report your divorce eventually. Assume you submit your record of divorce when you did notice CIC. You'll have to wait and see what CIC will do abot the situations. If you ever attempt to sponsor a spouse if you get married I would anticipate a lot of scrutiny given thr optics of your current situation. It appears as though you wanted to guarantee that your ex-wife still received PR although you were divorced and she didn't qualify.

Sir, I just wrote twice above that she DID NOT land in Canada with and STAYED home. My ex-wife is not planning to come to Canada anymore. Only me landed in Canada and got PR. Pls read my thread carefully.

Sorry I clearly misread that. Yes you need to inform CIC and should have informed them before you landed and when you separated.
