Hi there,

I've got some questions about the eligibility for OHIP- I'd really appreciate it if there's someone who could answer my questions. ;-))

I've got my COPR and will land in Canada in April this year to apply for my PR card. But I'll need to go back in my country and I know thats possible. I'll need a travel document when I come back the second time to get settled.

But OHIP says that I'm only eligible if 'you are in Ontario for at least 153 days of the first 183 days immediately following the date you establish residence in Ontario (you cannot be absent for more than 30 days during the first 6 months of residence' (on the health-gov.-website)

But when does the establishing or the residence actually starts? I find this quite confusing and I'm hoping that someone could help me here.
What would private insurance cost for me on a basic level? I'm female, 40 years old.

Thank's a lot ;-))

Re: Got COPR, will be in Canada but need to go back- what abou OHIP?

Once you return to Canada the second time, you will qualify for OHIP after you have lived in Canada for three months.
