Got a TRV as student, can use it on Post-Grad work permit?

Hi All,

I have a question that my friend got his study permit till December 2013 and TRV also valid till December 2013.
But he graduated in June 2012 and got his Post-Grad work permit and started working.

He wants to visit his home country. Does he need to renew / replace his TRV too as Post-Grad workpermit although his current TRV (as student) is valid till December 2013?

His his TRV multiple-entry? If not, he needs to re-apply for a TRV to re-enter Canada

Yes, the TRV is multiple and valid. The only concern is that the category mentioned in TRV is "student". But he has now Post-Grad work permit.
So, the question is, can he travel abroad and return to Canada using his current TRV (which is valid and multiple-entry) with category "student" and his valid Post-Grad work permit? Or he has to apply for a new TRV (in which the category should be "worker") ?
