Goods to follow...?

Hey,
I'm getting ready to cross back into Canada from the states and I have the rest of my stuff with me. When I landed I filled out a goods to follow list. Do they keep that on file? Should i print it out and fill it out again?

Actually if you want, you can print out two sets - one for their keeping and one for yourself.

well the thing is I landed about four or so weeks ago, I didn't make a copy of the form, but I am going through the border again tomorrow with the rest of my stuff... I'm hoping it won't be a problem...

No problem. Don't have to go back to the border! Phone the CBSA, say what you want and find the nearest CBSA local office and hand in the forms.

No, I don't think you are understand my question. I already filled out the goods to follow form and they took it when I landed at the border. My question is, when I cross again tomorrow with the rest of my stuff, should I have another form, or do they keep it on file or something?

I'm in the states already, I had to go home for a family emergency, while I was there I got the rest of my stuff, I'm not going to the border specifically for this... does that make sense?

In order to be valid, you should be bringing the form with CBSA stamped with other proof of ownership

When you submit the goods of follow, you should have 2 copies: 1 for CBSA keeping and the other will be stamped and return to you. when the form is stamped, this serves as an acknowledgement that you have gave the form to CBSA before the goods arrive. I suggest you better phone CBSA to double check before you cross border again tomorrow with the rest of your stuff.

You are required to provide proof of ownership such as photograph, receipts of each item listed in the original goods to follow form at the time the shipment arrives or you personally delivers.

See, when I landed, they made me fill out a goods to follow list because I filled out a regular goods list and just told them that it was goods to follow. They said no, they had a different form for that. They sat there as I filled it out and took it. They never returned a stamped copy. It so happens that I am going to the same crossing, so maybe they will still have it there?

As far as proving ownership, I don't have anything expensive, it's mostly books, some clothes, and a cheap tv and an xbox. it's not like it's terribly expensive stuff.
