Hello !!!

I'm currently living in Canada with my common law partner (who is sponsoring me outland). I'm french and have a visitor status. We plan to go outside of Canada for vacation.
Is it a problem to go back in Canada ?

I've heard it's ok if you have your proof of process for PR to show to the border officer if they ask. I also have a booking number for a return flight to Paris. Anyway, I don't work and I have nothing to hide, I'm a simple visitor !

I'm a bit anxious to be rejected at the entry of the country...

Do you have informations or experiences about that ?

Thank you for sharing !

Nice day to all,

Dong

Whether you're allowed back into Canada and for how long is up to the CBSA officer you encounter at the border. Given you are a visa exempt passport holder, you should have no issues re-enter Canada. However it's never a 100% guarantee.

Hi

Yes, carry proof of the PR app, such as the fee receipt or an ECAS printout.

It's exactly as scylla said - PR application does not guarantee re-entry. It will be up to the CBSA Officer you encounter at the border.

Usually people in your situation are let back in. Proof of your application, and a return ticket are generally enough. If you have any other proof of ties to France, I'd bring them too, just in case you get a bad border agent. Just be clear that you are just visiting Canada.

Many people on the forum have been in the same situation and have been let back in with no problem.

Great ! Thank you for all your comments ! I will take with me all the documents, pr process, plane ticket reservation. And if they want I can explain everything.

Have a nice day !
