If you are a citizen, then you go back for as long as you like. If you are a PR, then I think there's a time limit for being out of Canada. I'm not entirely sure, but I think it's 2 weeks.

Have they approved you as a sponsor?

No Maplegal....

A PR of Canada can live out side of Canada for Three years out of Five year validity of PR Card. Earlier it was Six Months.

True, that is to keep your PR status.

I have heard when you are sponsoring someone, you need to be in Canada and from start til PR is issued and sponsor can go out for only a short while (short trips, holiday etc)

But that's not what is being discussed here.

If a PR wants to sponsor their spouse - they MUST be living in Canada from the time the application is submitted to the time their spouse is approved and receives their visa. Occasional short trips outside of the country are OK (2-3 weeks). Anything longer and they risk having the application refused because the sponsor is no longer residing in Canada.

Im a PR An all i want is to go for a short vacation, but not to reside there.im not sure if im allowed to go or not thinking that the application will be affected.my husband is still waiting for PPR bt until now havnt heard from them

If you just plan to visit him for 2-3 weeks, then the application will not be affected.

I visited my partner in the Philippines for about 40 days, after my sponsor approval. I'm a Canadian citizen and not Filipino. It was fine.. I think you will be fine for what you said, a few weeks or even more.

Citizens are allowed to sponsor outside Canada. PRs must live in Canada.

A two week vacation is fine. You're allowed to take a vacation. Going to visit your spouse helps bolster the relationship.

Right. The rules for citizens are completely different.
