Going Back to Qatar - Please advise

I applied for the Canadian passport in May 2014 and going back to Qatar. No more winters now

Please advise what are the important things to do before leaving?????

Someone said to make yourself non resident, how do I do that and what else

Where are you leaving from? So you applied for the Canadian passport at a consulate/embassy?
