Giving Biometrics in Canada while living in the US

I have a question I haven't really been able to get a clear answer on. I'm a Provincial Nominee applying for a work permit through Global Skills Strategy from the United States and am a US Citizen. My partner is an accompanying dependent applying for an open work permit. They are a UK citizen/US permanent resident and need to give biometrics. Every USCIS site within a few state radius only has appointments exactly 14 days away and never earlier. We live near the border. Would we be able to cross the border into Canada and have my partner give their biometrics, or does it have to be done in the United States? Thank you!
