Long story short. I got my refugee claim rejected several months ago, after that I didn't went to any of the appointments they gave me, so at the end i got a warrant.

At first my intention was to stay here but I had some bad luck strikes, I lose my job, I got robbed and my health it's been deteriorating. I'm living in a shelter burning my savings, so honestly I'm not living good, I'm not having a decent life and I feel like shit all the time. So I was thinking in giving myself up to the CBSA and trying to restart my life in my home country with the saving I have instead of just burning them here with no a near sight of improvent here and honestly I feel like shit using city resources (homeless shelter, etc) so I'd rather get deported.

I have my doubts though, if I decided to giving myself up to CBSA to be deported:

-what would be the process to do such thing?, go the office and saying what?

-will they take away my cash(I have all my money in cash, is less than 10k)?

-Will they throw me in any flight back to my home or could I ask them for sending me to a familiar place?, my country is big.

-Will they put me in jail?, I known they can detain me and most likely will do, but will I be charge with something and throw in jail?, I'm worry particularly about this

Basically I'm worry of being put in jail and stripped away of the few resources I have. I need to say that I AM NOT proud of anything, my intention was to have a life here and being a productive person in the canadian society. In my country I'll be disfranchised but at least I can get access to free healtcare which I really need lately and hopefully recover enough to start working normally again.

I'm hoping no one get mad or something, I just need help.

Contact CBSA asap. Would show that you have bought a flight home leaving very soon as a good faith gesture. Hopefully that will be enough to get you out of having to be placed in immigration detention. You’ll have to arrange for CBSA to meet you at the airport to return your passport. They will not seize your funds if you can prove how you earned the 10k (proof of employment, bank statements, etc.).

So if I call them and I tell them my situation would them just leave me leave even though my warrant is been up for quite a while?, i have no problem buying my ticket and so, in fact I'd be ideal for me.

the money is less than 10k, I read that in any flights as long is less than 10k I don't need to report it?

you don’t have to declare over 10k but you should always be able to show where money comes from or it can be confiscated. This is to prevent money laundering. If not a substantial amount should be fine but access to your employment records, bank statements, etc. is always a good idea. It is impossible to tell you what will happen when you call CBSA now that you have a warrant. Having already booked a plane ticket home may help your case. In general Canada prefers that people leave voluntarily instead of having to take people into immigration detention and deport them.

Hi,

I know something about removals but it's dated.

You go in and tell them that you have a warrant and that you want to surrender for removal.

They think, good, a cooperative person. They'll generally return the respect that you exhibit.
They have to deal with the warrant - it will probably need to be executed but you're cooperating, so you might be released on terms and conditions that day. They'll want to then deal with the removal, but different cities means different demands so really busy places will have a standard process and eventually you're in front of the removals officer. It could be a few weeks - who knows? They have to deal with travel documents, tickets and any other housekeeping, travel stuff.

You don't have a permanent address so some continued detention might happen.

Your money is your money. Put it in a bank, wire it home, whatever and retrieve it when you get home. Removals officers give a rat's ass about your money - they want to remove you and get a statistic.

Living underground in Canada sucks - go home, get refreshed and don't sweat your savings when you can find a means to get it home and waiting to buy you a meal at some favoured spot. It's a civil process, not a crime.

If OP has a valid passport it would be best if they voluntarily return home versus forced deportation. Believe there is a much higher chance of immigration detention if Canada is the one arranging your removal given lack of home address. If when you turn yourself in with a flight already booked to return home in the near future that shows that you are now cooperating.

OP didn't go to any of those appointment that triggered a warrant. Most likely he will be placed in Immigration detention. If Warrant has been issued, technically it is to enforce Deportation Order. Meeting all steps from Failure to leave--- Failure to Appear for interview----failure to Appear for Scheduled removal date---- Canada-Wide Arrest Warrant to Enforce Deportation.

Don’t disagree but if you contacted CBSA this week with a flight booked the next day they may decide to give you the chance and avoid detention.
