Gift deed for POF queries ?

HI Experts,

Please help with following queries:

1. Can someone please share the gift deed sample?

2. Do we need to notarize the gift deed or its a simple letter from a donor( in my case my father) saying that it's a gift from my father to me?

3. Can my brother give me a gift that I can show as POF with the help of gift deed? ( I have a joint FD with my brother and my brother can state that I need not my him anything from FD.)

1) Contact a notary. He will have the format.

2) Yes. It's a notarised version. Simple paper won't suffice.

3) If you are showing this FD account as your PoF, then you can not, since joint accounts with member other than spouse will not be accepted as PoF.

I don't have an account to which FD belongs it is my father's account but FD(with distinct FD number) in that bank is in the joint name of me and brother. I am the first holder and my brother is the second holder. Will it help if my brother write it on a gift deed that he has no claim on this FD number?

You should consult other person who has done the same.

I am now confused, i found several comments in multiple threads that you dont need the gift deed to be notarized, ppl even claiming that it worked for them. The issue is that i cant seem to find any notary here in my country. Please advise.

I understand your concern.
People here in the forum suggest other people based on their knowledge & personal experiences. No one here is expert in every field.

However, there's no 'One size fits all' like situation. Each country has its own rules & regulation.
I'd recommend you contact people who are from your country and who also are in the same situation as yours.
