Hi guys


I have written a few time in the forum here about GIC and i wanted to know if is it essential when applying for the student visa and how it actually works????
Should i send the money to a bank in Canada? I asked in my bank in my country but they had no info regarding this.

My CAQ is not issued yet and its 2 weeks since i sent the additional documents they asked. I am starting to get anxious now. Is this normal or probably it will get refused?

Every bank has its own Overseas branch so you have to visit that branch, fill the form amount ,purpose, your student number and within 24hr money will be deducted from your account and after 1 week you will get GIC certificate from Nova Scotia Bank.
But first you need an GIC account. It takes 10 days for processing and your account details will be mailed on your GIC site login.

Yes GIC is mandatory.

After you reached Canada, You will get $2000 per month back.

Is there a fixed amount of money that i should put on this account and in the case my visa is refused do i get this money back ?

Yes you will get baxback for sure but it takes 1-3 months for refund
