Hi again,

I had asked about getting PR with CSQ and positive criminal record a few weeks ago.
Details:
url: canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/criminial-record-vs-pr-t55694.0.html;msg464030#msg464030

After sending the RCMP certificate, I received a letter back from the Buffalo consulate asking for:
Court Documents, Disposition of Charges, and Explanation of events leading up to the incident.

What is the intention behind this request? Also, how do I get these documents, by contacting the court which served my case?

Hi,

Attention is pretty clear they just want to make sure that your presence in Canada will not put anyone life in danger remember criminal record is a criminal record no matter how big or small is the offence, so please dont get offended by my comment. Get all the documents related to the case from the court and from police.

Cheers
Saki

When you initially applied for PR, although you are correct in answering no to the charge question, you should have explained in a separate sheet of paper what your criminal record shows.

As you did not, now that CIC have the record, they want the explanation you should have written at time of application.

Send in a full detailed letter explaining the circumstances of the criminal offense, the reasons you were discharged and the copies of legal documents you have.
