Yes, if you are applying as "in-Canada" spousal class, but it would be at least 6 months if you receive first level approval and the work permit.

My guess would be a canadian citizen doesn't need a passport in his own country, I don't have one yet and the same for many canadians if they don't need to travel.

This also applies for PR Card, if you don't need to travel.

Oh okay, i just thought i saw on the checklist for both the spouse and for the sponsor to submit the passport thier passport when we apply for PR.

Thanks.

Can you please tell me if im able to apply a different job while my PR is on process? Im in canada as a fotiegn worker so im just wondering if i can leave my job right after to get married and find a better job. What do i need? Please give me a good advise.

Thanks again

I'm in the same situation , I am a foreign worker and got married to a canadian. We applied inland submitting an open work permit application as well. First stage or what they call AIP (approval in principle) is 6 months in which you will get your open work permit where you can work anywhere. While waiting for open work permit you can only work with your current employer. 2nd stage can take up to 8 months where you get your permanent residence. I know, its not as easy as most people would think.

Hi,
Does it always take 6 months before i can get my open work permit or there is a possibility to get it less than 6 months?

Hi all,
Again im still nit getting answers from my last post. Is there any way to expedite the processing to get my open work permit before 6 months? Does anybody have any advise or any ideA regarding my last post?
Please share it with me.

Thank you so much!

No - there is no way to expedite the processing of your open work permit. You will have to wait 6 months.

If you want to change employers sooner, you'll have to obtain a job offer from your new employer, that employer will then have to obtain an approved LMO and then you'll have to apply for a new closed work permit.

Hello,
It doesnt matter if i submitted the complete requirements and all important supporting documents with my applicstions at sll?
And even all the proof of my relstionship of my husband before we goy maried?

Thanks
