Getting File Number from CIC

Hi All,

I am new to this forum

I have applied for Cannadian Immigration along with my wife on Skilled Worker Category in Mid of April 2009.

I live in US and had sent out papers to canada through a lawyer.

Can anyone please let me know how long it takes to get the file number.

Is there any link which gives the porcess how CIC is going to process the application.

Can you please help me on this.
