Getting a visitor visa while PR visa is being processed

I got your point. There is no priority for reunification of spouses even if one is a Canadian citizen. Getting a visa to a 3rd country where you don't have a family connection can't be compared to getting a visa to Canada as a foreign spouse. The wait time for spousal sponsorship is pretty clear. There seems to be this thought that because Canada says they prioritize family reunification that there will be a short wait time. It is actually quite short and inexpensive compared to many countries but install averages a year. Although I realize there are unplanned pregnancies, there seems to be a large majority of people who get pregnant then look at the timeline for spousal sponsorship or assume that a pregnancy will fastback their application. We see similar things with PRs or citizens arriving in Canada at the end of their pregnancy without realizing there is a wait period to receive healthcare in many provinces.
