Is there anyone who lives outside Canada and got a job offer , I feel it is nearly impossible with LMO process and other hassles employees face in order to hire someone from outside. Just curious, I'm about to give up my hopes for the 600 points .

I got a job offer when I was outside of Canada. Now I am almost 2 years here.
Before I got the job offer I had already the contacts to my currently employer. ( mostly It doesn't work without visiting your future employer here)
They did the LMO ( LMIA) and I had to do the rest at the embassy of my country after I received the LMO.
I took only 3 months, and after 6 months I arrived in Canada.
Now I am in for the PR.

You still have PNP.

E.g. Sask's SINP-EE stream doesn't require active job offer (it does require 60 points out of 100 in their point system, which involves Canadian experience and Sask work history), but it's still subject to SINP's selection. Some other provinces may join later.

Meanwhile, getting a job offer overseas is hard, if possible. Not only employers wants to see you face to face for an interview, going through LMIA process is painful and time consuming and no guarantee. So you gotta be in a very specialized area of your profession

Thanks for the reply guyz. ANyway i'm still trying to get a job offer .

Hi Intocanada ,

We all would like to to how you prepared to to get a job offer . Any particular web site you use for job search, any advise is highly appreciated.

yeah i am looking for the same. its been a month im applying to the jobs but no response. i know i need to wait a lot more. but it would be great if an experienced person guide us.
intocanada plz share your experience in detail.
thanks

I had experience in a very unique technology. I see lot of experts on this programming language back in India but Canada doesn't have many. That is the reason employer took care of LMIA, work permit and other formalities. Frankly, LMIA was also positive because technology was unique.
I applied for this job via company website and also got in contact with HR thru LinkedIn. That worked well for me. To share timelines, I applied for this job in June 2013(when job was posted as contract), did interview in Feb 2014(employer changed the job type to permanent), LMO filed in April, got an LMIA in August(LMO changed to LMIA) and finally landed in Canada in Nov 2014.

One website I can recommend is workbc.ca. You can filter the job based on TFW jobs.

HTH.

Unique technology....what's what? Mainframes, in memory apps? SAP?

I don't think Mainframes and SAP are unique anymore. The technology is so unique that if I share it in this forum I can be identified. Nobody must have heard it in open market. My previous job thought me this technology and my current employer uses my previous employer tools. That's the maximum I can share :)
