There is no such thing, there is only one study permit. Canada does not give a study visa, only a permit.
If you are from India, Vietnam, China or the Philippines. Then you are eligible for Study Direct Stream program (SDS). This shortens the requirements and a reduced processing time of 45 days, instead of 60 ( in most cases ).
The only variance with regards to study permit is if you have a co-op work permit. This is given to students who have to work in an organization as part of their studies. The only difference is, is that a person with a co-op work permit can work full time during their co-op.
In this forum, in countries with the SDS program, we refer to the regular, slower process as general, however they are the same study permit that you get.
