I am 51 years old and drawing Social Security Disability payments every month. My disability aren't so severe that I can't care for myself, I just can't work. I don't anticipate this changing in the foreseeable future other than natural aging.
I am considering moving to the Calgary area to be closer to friends and have been doing research about immigrating to Canada but haven't found anything that would be close to my particular situation. I am not sure what course of action I should take or even if I would be able to move to Canada. Any suggestions would appreciated.

Thank you

Unless you have a family member who qualifies to sponsor you for permanent residency - I don't see that immigrating to Canada will be possible for you. That family member would either have to be a Canadian spouse or common law partner (a common law partner is someone you've lived with continuously for at least one full year). If you have an adult child in Canada who is a Canadian citizen or PR - it's possible they may be able to sponsor you as well.
