Hi All,

First time here and just getting my head around the immigration process involved to permanently relocate to Canada - which is a longstanding dream. I am currently in New Zealand, having gained PR after moving from the UK and would like to move to Canada over the next 1-2yrs.

If anyone could give me a heads up, as to whether I could go down the express entry route - that would be much appreciated :)

10+ work experience in Social/Youth work as a manager/team leader
No degree but level 3 & 4 diploma in health and social care
No health issues etc

Would I realistically need a job offer before being eligible to apply for PR or would it be realistic without a job offer?

Also - Do I need to complete a IELTS course - even though English is my native language?

Many thanks in advance

Josh

All applicants in EE or PNP must take an IELTS test.

There's really no short cut to researching all of Canada's immigration programs on your own to see what it takes to qualify (apart from hiring a lawyer / consultant to do this leg work for you). So if you're serious about these future plans, you're going to need to spend a lot more time reading (or pay several thousand for someone to represent you).

Focus on Federal Skilled Worker / Express entry and the Provincial Nominee programs. For FSW/EE - only those with more than 480 points have been recently selected. Historically, this has never dropped below 450.

IELTS is mandatory.
